I didn't think I would be that kind of mom. Especially since I have raised a child from a young age to a pre-teen with little concern. See, my oldest is actually my bonus son. But I didn't think I'd be a 'crazy mom' with my two youngest because I had been helping raise my oldest since he was a little over one year old. After our three year old was born, it took me a really long time to admit that I had a problem. I ignored it for almost 1.5 years until it got to the point, my school nurse thought I was having a heart attack at 30.
After talking to my doctor, it was determined I had postpartum anxiety and PTSD. The PTSD put my anxiety over the edge which caused physical symptoms after ignoring it for so long. I didn't want to be medicated so I went to counseling. After almost two years of counseling and becoming more aware of my feelings, I'm starting to cope and be more open with myself and others about my anxiety. Which is why I started this blog. I want to use my life experiences to help more moms. Let them know its okay to talk about these things because noone does. And if a mom does, society pegs it as she can't handle it or she is an inadequate mother...which is total BS! Motherhood is hard! Motherhood is messy. Motherhood is amazing and it is the most wonderful thing I've ever done. Its a total mix of emotions; like a great recipe. Which is why I came up with the name Motherhood with a Pinch. It takes little Pinches of this and that to make this crazy chaotic journey, beautiful and rewarding. Through this blog, I hope to share my own pinches of motherhood to not only help my own mind but maybe help you with your own.
So if you've read this far, again WELCOME and THANK YOU! I look forward to sharing my motherhood pinches knowing I have a new friend supporting me and all other moms work through their own anxiety. 💜💙
